Experts of the University of Paderborn were guests at Optibelt

As part of an excursion, experts of the faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Paderborn recently visited the headquarters of Optibelt in Höxter. The employees of the chair in Particle Process Engineering, alongside Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hans-Joachim Schmid, were able to gain a comprehensive insight in the development, production and application of drive solutions.

First of all, the excursion group was welcomed by Optibelt employee Bing Wu. The graduate engineer also studied at the University of Paderborn / faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Today, he is in charge of the application technology of drive solutions, not only in the facility in Höxter, but also in China.

After that, Bing Wu and some of his colleagues guided the visitors along the value chain through the company and explained to them the single steps of the extensive tour. This way, the university employees got to know the complete production process, started with the rubber kneaders followed by the different productions steps of the V-belt and timing belt production up to the storage and dispatch of the belts in the huge product stock.
