ARNTZ OPTIBELT GROUP

OPTIBELT goes for (higher) education

“OPTIBELT macht (Hoch-)Schule” (OPTIBELT goes for [higher] education / sets precedents) – true to this motto, a guest lecture of the Arntz OPTIBELT Group took place in the congress centre of the Lipperlandhalle in Lemgo at the end of June after an invitation of the Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe (University of Eastern Westphalia-Lippe). There, Michael Rose, Technical Controller at OPTIBELT, held a lecture on the topic “Cost and Performance Calculation (CPC) in Small Business” by his own professional experience.

Michael Rose readily followed the invitation by Prof. Dr. Christian Faupel, who holds the chair for Controlling & Cost Management in the faculty Production and Economy at the Hochschule OWL (HS OWL; University of Eastern Westphalia-Lippe). “I am pleased that we were able to win and integrate a local, worldwide operating and successful company such as OPTIBELT as a partner for supporting knowledge transfer,” Faupel therefore gladly explains about the cooperation. He himself had started his professional career at the Arntz OPTIBELT Group back in his youth.

During his 90 minute lecture, Michael Rose was able to give the approximately 400 interested attendees practice-oriented approaches and solutions from CPC directly taken from day-to-day company experience. After a quick introduction to OPTIBELT and a scientific classification of the CPC, especially the topics: types of cost (calculation) and cost unit (calculation) were in focus of his detailed
and vivid lecture.

“Mr Rose succeeded in giving an excellent, application-oriented and comprehensive overview regarding practice-relevant questions on cost and performance calculation, and in doing so, also connected with the university lecture subjects taught before,” Prof. Dr. Faupel enthusiastically explained after the guest lecture.

Rose, actually a former graduate of the HS OWL, added: “It is fantastic that OPTIBELT, as an integral part of the region, is such a popular partner of the local academic landscape and that we have the opportunity to present ourselves on such an important stage.” Both furthermore confirm that they will continue and intensify their cooperation.
